Long Hot Pepper

Usually referred to as an ‘Italian’ long hot pepper, these change from green to red in coloring and their taste can vary. Most have a spicy flavor. Still, they are considered to be three times milder than jalapenos. Long hot peppers are very thin, slightly wrinkled, and often times curved. Long hot peppers are most popular in the northeastern United States.

Ingesting hot peppers actually, ramps up the metabolism. This switches the body into fat burning mode. Capsaicin, which is in long hots, stimulates nerves in the body which increases blood flow. Long hots can also help lower cholesterol. This is from the capsaicin as well.

Temperature:45 degrees is the best temperature to store long hot peppers.
